WE SHIP OUR DISCUS FISH YEAR ROUND. OUR DISCUS WINTER SHIPPING TECHNIQUE WAS PERFECTED IN THE COLORADO ROCKIES. In the winter we regularly ship into areas with temperatures in the single digits with no problem. This is our area of expertise. WE ARE NOT DISCUS WHOLESALERS. 1. Express Courier - This is the fastest, easiest, most economical and convenient method of shipping discus fish. The discus fish are shipped at night and arrive at their destination the following morning by express courier usually between ten am and noon. This method of shipping discus is preferred based on reliability through the years. The discus fish order is delivered to your door. The cost varies depending upon the weight and distance. The average cost for shipping a box containing several discus is between $65. and $75.
NOTE: If you live in a state neighboring southern Indiana your discus shipping charge will be less.

2.Booked Freight- Includes Delta Dash. Many airlines offer expedited service to your nearest airport. Because this is a commercial airline shipment there are delays. This is faster than regular air freight but slower than using the express courier. The freight is booked on specific flights to reduce the likelihood of delays. This shipping method for your discus order is available to Puerto Rico and Canada. Cost is $85.

3.Regular Airfreight - This is not one of our normal shipping options. This type service is not designed to move freight quickly and is subject to routine delays. Freight shipped in this manner is given the lowest priority and only moves on a flight when space permits. We only use this service in certain instances such as direct flights to the destination.
Cost is $50.

NOTE: Because the US Postal Service prohibits the shipment of live tropical fish we do not offer that option. I am aware that some discus suppliers mislabel the boxes as containing live plants for the aquarium, which is allowed.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

We accept all major credit cards, including American Express and debit cards. We also accept money orders, certified checks wire transfers and PayPal. Out of state business checks and personal checks can take up to five business days to clear. Orders placed by phone receive conventional credit card or debit card processing.

Orders for discus fish may be given by phone, fax, email or U.S. Post.

If you call Rocky Mountain Discus to place a discus order and get voice mail, we will return your phone call promptly. When arranging your discus shipment it is important to speak with you on the phone prior to shipment to properly coordinate the details. Please include a phone number with area code when contacting us. Your discus shipment will be sent to arrive on the day of your choosing. Someone must be present to sign for the discus as the courier will not leave the box unattended on a doorstep. If you wish to have the discus sent to your business or place of employment please make that known when placing the order. Due to the courier's scheduling, arrival on Sunday or Monday is not available. Every discus shipment is prepared and packed as if going on a long export. Our state of the art shipping procedures ensure your discus fish will arrive in fine condition. We do not use any type of sedatives in our shipping process.

SHIPPING DISCUS FISH

We carefully prepare the discus fish prior to shipment. We fast the discus fish for a day and perform a large water change to clean them out so they will not foul the shipping water. The discus fish are double bagged in 4 mil. thick bags, square bottom, with a liner. The bags are filled with oxygen and placed into a styrofoam insulated box. The insulated box is placed inside a thick cardboard outer box. We prepare every shipment as if going on a long export shipment. In winter shipping we only use the finest heat packs on the market. This ensures the discus will arrive in excellent condition. There is an art to properly shipping discus and our years of experience ensure your discus will arrive in fine condition.
